Simi Seal 60 Soft Hackle Leech – these are just variations on the SS 60 leech.
Tied on a size 8, 10, 12 or 14, 60 degree jig hook with or without (pictured) hot spot this leech can be fished under an indicator or stripped. An example hotspot on a half hackle can be by clicking here.
Sometimes the fish want a larger front end profile more representing a baitfish or fleeing crawdad. These flies do a good job of representing that to bass, trout, walleye, sunfish, etc.
I have used both of them for the past year with great success and have been able to catch fish when the normal SS 60 doesn’t produce. I think sometimes after a while of catching fish they get wise and just want a different look. These give them that.
