Henry’s Lake, Idaho-Trip #1

Well another trip to Henry’s Lake is in the books.  The weather started out way too nice, with daytime temps in the 70s and water temps in the high 50s.  We did manage to catch some fish and had times when the fishing really turned on.  Jimmy, Greg, JG and Mike joined Brandon and I for the first part of the week.  We fished Henry’s on Sat, Sun and Tuesday doing some bouncing around on Mon to some other waters in the area.  Everyone caught fish, some with their biggest trout ever caught.  We mainly fished Magnum Simi Seal Leeches, the hottest colors were the darker ones(Halloween, Blood, Black/Red, Brown Garnet.  Here are some pictures from the first part of the week.

Jimmy, JG, Mike and Greg took off on Tuesday afternoon and on Weds the cold and snow we had been waiting for arrived in a big way.  Weds was almost not fishable with the high winds and snow squalls blowing through.  The water temp dropped 7-8 degrees overnight and we had high hopes for the rest of the week.  We managed a few fish in the evening on Weds, but Thursday we had a cold overcast day and the fishing really turned on.  Thursday we caught a ton of fish, and hooked some good ones, but most were in the 2-5lbs range.  The big ones are waiting for the next AZ invasion which is beginning in the next couple days.  We had good fishing on Friday and Saturday as well.  With water temps just getting under 50 degrees as we were leaving, from here to ice out will be some great fishing.  Thanks to the great crew we had go with us on this trip.  It was a lot of fun.  I can’t wait until next year…
